Every Friday morning all children participate in a Spanish lesson and a Creative Dance class.

Each instructor uses the communicative approach with lots of gestures, so everyone participates in the fun. Immersed in Spanish, students engage in games and activities, and learn through music, movement, drama and art. The children will learn useful everyday vocabulary and functional language such as describing actions and expressing likes.
Creative Dance teacher, Jessica Gleason has been dancing and performing since the age of four. She received her Bachelor of Arts in dance at the University of Washington (2001.) After university Jessica performed professionally with various modern dance companies around Western Washington. In 2005 she found her passion for teaching while attending the Summer Dance Institute for Teachers at the Creative Dance Center in Seattle. The Creative Dance Center is the birthplace of Anne Green Gilbert’s BrainDance, a series of exercises that are used to help integrate the mind and body. In addition to teaching at many local dance studios in the Seattle area Jessica joined the faculty of the Creative Dance Center in 2006. She has taught a large age range of students but particularly enjoys teaching children 5 and under. Jessica feels very passionate about the importance of movement in early life. She is known for her high energy, laughter, and extremely creative and joyful approach to teaching.
Children are playfully engaged to move using fun concepts, such as size and level that research has shown to enhance brain development. The children will learn new skills while enjoying a wide variety of music, props, rhythm instruments, BrainDance rhymes, and an obstacle course.
